Export From MicroGrade | Import/Export With WebCT | Import To MicroGrade

Once WebCT data has been downloaded you can import either student or score information into MicroGrade.

To import WebCT student information open or create a MicroGrade class and then go to the Students menu and choose to import from WebCT as shown in the screen on the right.

You will be asked to locate your downloaded WebCT file and then a dialog similar to the one displayed on the right will appear.

Note that MicroGrade automatically recognizes the fields “First Name”, “Last Name”, and “User ID” and associates them with appropriate fields. If there are other fields that you wish to import assign an appropriate field to them using the “Import Fields:” popup menu. Once fields have been assigned click OK to complete the import of student information.

To import WebCT score information you must have an existing MicroGrade class with the student information matching the WebCT class. The import process matches students based on their ID numbers. You can achieve this by either uploading students from MicroGrade or by downloading from WebCT. Once you have opened your class file with matching student information go to the Scores menu and choose to import from WebCT as shown in the screen on the right.
A dialog asking you to choose an assignment to import scores into will appear.
Select the assignment to import scores into and click OK. You will be asked to locate your downloaded WebCT file and then a dialog similar to the one shown on the right will appear.

Note that MicroGrade automatically recognizes the field “User ID” and associates it with the MicroGrade student ID. Locate the field in the list corresponding to the assignment you want to score and click on it so that it is highlighted. Then choose “Score” from the “Import Fields:” popup in the lower right of the dialog. Once this is done click OK to complete the import of score information.
