We are pleased to announce that the Palm module for MicroGrade is currently shipping! This new module lets teachers enter scores and attendance information on their Palm (or other PDA using the Palm OS) and then easily transfer the information to their PC and/or Mac-based MicroGrade class files.

Class List

After HotSynching, your Palm will display a list of MicroGrade classes. Tapping the stylus on a class will bring up the Class roster.

The Class Roster screen displays students, ID numbers and grade to date. The up-down arrows in the lower right allow scrolling. The down arrow in the lower center will display the list of classes. The three icons in the lower left will be for navigating to the Student Info, Scores or Attendance screens.

The scores screen is accessed by tapping the stylus on a student's name on the Class Roster screen or by using the navigation icons. The down arrow next to the assignment (Test 1) on the menu bar is used to find the assignment to be scored. Tapping the stylus on a student's name brings up the score entry pad. The score entry pad contains the student's name and a keypad for entering letter or numeric scores.

The Attendance screen displays the current day and date, which can be changed by using the down arrow. The down arrow next to each student will bring up a display of the attendance codes for selection.

The Summary screen displays the same student summary information contained in MicroGrade. The up-down arrows allow scrolling. Tapping the stylus on a student's name or the appropriate icon will bring up the Student Info screen.

The Student Info screen displays the same student information contained in MicroGrade. All student information displayed can be edited.

Once information is recorded on the Palm, all information will be verified and entered into the correct MicroGrade class file.

System Requirements

All known PDAs running Palm OS version 3.0 and greater with at least 4 MB of memory.
