MicroGrade Home > Tech Support Center > Knowledge Base > Starting A New Class File

Click on each step for a screenshot illustrating that step.

1. Start MicroGrade. The Select MicroGrade File dialog will appear. Click on the New Class button to begin.
2. The Creating A New Class dialog will appear and give you two options: Quick Start and Experienced User. Click on the option you want to continue.
3. Quick Start is recommended but not required for new users. It will help walk you through the basic steps needed to create a new file, enter students, setup grading scales and add categories/assignments. Not all options are available in Quick Start, but can be accessed once you complete the Quick Start process.
4. If you would prefer to start a new class without utilizing Quick Start, Experienced User mode will open a blank class file. At this point, you may begin entering students, set up your categories and assignments, configure your preferences, etc.
