MicroGrade Home > Tech Support Center > Knowledge Base > Exporting From MicroGrade To A Text File

MicroGrade includes the ability to export information such as students or scores to a plain text file. The steps necessary to do this are described below.

1. Go to the File menu and click on Export > General

2. The General Export dialog will appear. You should see a dialog similar to the one shown below.

3. At this point, you will need to select the items you wish to export to your text file. For example, you might want to export the raw score on the first Midterm exam. To do this, click the drop-down menu labeled Raw Score and select Midterm from the list of options that appears.

4. You should now see something similar to the dialog shown below. The "Raw:Exams,Midterm1" displayed in the white text area indicates that the raw score for the first Midterm exam will be exported. You only need to select this item once, and MicroGrade will automatically export the raw score for every student on the Midterm exam.

4a. Note that you can also export student information the same way, by selecting the desired items from the Student menu. For example, you could select Last Name, First Name and any other items of student information you want to export. As with the scores, you only need to select each of these items once, and MicroGrade will automatically export the entire roster based on the export items you choose.

When you are ready to continue, click the Export button in the lower right-hand corner.

5. The Choose Export File Format dialog will appear. Make sure the button labeled General Export Format is selected, then click the OK button to continue.

6. The Save Export File dialog will appear. Enter a name for your export file, then click the Save button. Your file will now be ready for use.
