To view a screenshot that illustrates each step, click on any of the steps listed below.

1. Go to the Edit menu and click on Preferences For > Grades and Scores.
2. The Grades and Scores Options dialog will appear. Click on the menu labeled "Base Final Grade On" and select the grading method you wish to use, then click the OK button to apply it.
3. Go to the Edit menu again and click on Setup Categories.
4. The Setup Categories dialog will appear. Click on a category or assignment you wish to edit. Depending on the grading method selected, you may need to enter a weight in addition to a maximum score.
5. If you want to apply the changes you made and continue setting up your categories/assignments, click the Enter button. Otherwise, click the OK button to apply the changes and close the dialog.
