MicroTest Pro includes a feature that lets instructors create a test on their desktop PC that can be directly uploaded to WebCT. Full support of HTML is included so that bold, italic, underline, sub and superscript are preserved in the uploaded test. Graphics within questions are automatically converted to GIF files so that they can be uploaded to WebCT as well. Several college textbook publishers provide MicroTest Pro compatible test item banks to their textbook adopters. Contact your publishers sales representative for availability. MicroTest Pro is available for computers running Windows 98 through Windows XP and Macintosh computers with Mac OS X. Converting Within MicroTest Pro
1. Create a test as you normally would in MicroTest 2. Choose Export Test To > WebCT from the File menu |

3. The Write Test To WebCT dialog will appear. Specify a Directory Name,
WebCT Question Title and WebCT Category. You may also specify if you want to use the
MicroTest explanation as feedback. Click OK when you're ready to continue.

| 4. Choose a location to save the files. It is suggested that you specify or create a folder so that the HTML and GIF files can be easily located when you upload them to WebCT. Click the Select Folder button to save the files to the location you choose. |

Uploading Files
Uploading a file involves transferring it from your personal computer to the remote server hosting your WebCT course. Note: If you want to upload multiple files, zip them with a file compression program and then upload the .zip file. 1. Choose the default [My-Files] destination folder by selecting the checkbox next to the folder name. Folders are listed under Folder and Files in the bottom half of the Manage Files screen. Note: You cannot upload files to the WebCT-Files folder. 2. Select Upload File in the list box next to File Options 3. Click Browse to locate the file to upload. Note: the file name cannot contain any of the following characters:

Importing Questions
Before you can import questions to the Questions Database, you must ensure that you have uploaded the file containing your questions into the [My-Files] folder. See File Manager - Upload Files above for more information Once the file has been uploaded to the [My-Files] folder, you can import the file to the Questions Database. 1. To import questions from your computer, click the Questions Database hyperlink. The Questions Database screen appears. 2. Under Manage Questions, select Import questions and click Go. The Import Questions screen appears. 3. Under Import Questions, in the text box, type the filename of the file to be imported. Note: if you do not know the filename, click Browse. A new window opens and the files in your [My-Files] folder appear. Select a file, and click Pick. The Import Questions screen appears with the filename in the text box. 4. Click Import. The Import Questions screen appears. You can preview the questions that will be imported. 5. Click Continue. The Questions Database screen appears. |
