Entering New Figures

Previous   Contents   Next

  1. In the Table of Contents window, click on the desired chapter.
  2. From the Window menu, choose Display/Edit Figures.
  3. Click inside the Figure a) text box and type in a name. (As you add more figures to a chapter, the text box will be preceded by a different letter to label the figure, i.e. Figure b), Figure c), Figure d) and so on.)
Next, select how the figure will be linked to questions, by selecting options from the Link Relationship pop-up menu.
Figure links are referred to as weak or strong. If a series of five questions are weak linked, you may choose any one or all of the questions for your test. If the five questions are strong linked selecting one question will automatically select all five questions (with the figure) for the test.
  4. Click inside the window to type in figure information and/or paste in graphics (see Inserting Graphics ).
  5. OPTIONAL: If you do not want the order of a linked set of questions scrambled for a test, click the Keep Question Order When Printing checkbox.
  6. OPTIONAL: Clicking the Print Question x-y Before Figure box, will automatically insert the message "Use the following information to answer questions ? - ?" before the figure. (The question numbers will correspond to the numbers of the questions on your test.)
  7. When finished, from the Display/Edit Figures window, click on the Save button.
