1. I can't copy-and-paste the filename when I upload to WebGrade. How do I select the file I want to upload? [Back To Top] Due to security issues with the newer browsers that prevent the copy-and-paste procedure from being used, we have modified this portion of the upload process. You will need to click the Browse button and select your file manually. Please note that your WebGrade upload file is not your MicroGrade class file. Uploading your class file will return an error message and will not work. The upload file is one of the following: Windows Users: The upload file is a .web file that has the same name as your class file (e.g. Period2.web) Mac Users: The upload file is a file labeled as "WebGrade_Upload_File" and will be located either on your desktop or in the same folder where your class file is stored. 2. Why doesn't my Web browser automatically launch when I click the Upload button? (Mac) [Back To Top] Most likely you do not have a default browser specified in your Mac's settings. To set a default browser, go to the Apple menu and click on Control Panel > Internet. 3. How do I create a new account? [Back To Top] Point your browser to the WebGrade home page at http://webgrade.classmanager.com and click on "Create Account". (Individual Users Only. Site License WebGrade users log in at http://sc.webgrade.classmanager.com) 4. Why does a class I just uploaded replace another class uploaded previously? [Back To Top] Each class file created in MicroGrade is assigned a unique timestamp that identifies the file when it is uploaded to WebGrade. However, if the timestamp is duplicated for more than one file, such as if you manually make a new copy of the file by using your operating system's copy function, this can cause a problem when uploading the files to WebGrade. To resolve this issue, open each of the affected files in MicroGrade and use Save As to make a new copy of the files. This will assign a new timestamp to each file. 5. How can I change my password? [Back To Top] To change your password, log into WebGrade at http://webgrade.classmanager.com (Individual Users Only. Site License WebGrade users log in at http://sc.webgrade.classmanager.com). Once you log in, click the "User Info" link on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your User Information page, where you can edit the password you want to use. 6. How do I assign students their IDs and passwords? [Back To Top] The ID used for WebGrade is the same as the Student ID assigned to each student. To assign the WebGrade Password, go to the Students menu and click on Student Records. In the Student Records dialog, each student should have a field labeled "WebGrade Password" in their record. By default, MicroGrade assigns a random password to each student when they are added to the roster, or you may give each student a new password. 7. How do I print a list of students with their IDs and passwords? [Back To Top]
If you forget your password, you may have it automatically emailed to you by the WebGrade server. To do this, click the "Forgot Login Info?" link on the login page. You will be prompted to enter your email address to have the password sent to. Please note that this will only work if the email address you enter matches the email address that is listed for your WebGrade account. If you continue to experience difficulty, please contact Technical Support for assistance. 9. How do I delete a class from WebGrade? [Back To Top] Log into your WebGrade account. Once you have logged in, you should see your classes listed. To the right of the class list should be a column labeled "Delete", with a checkbox next to each class. Check the boxes for each class that you want to delete, then click the "Delete" button. 10. What does a "Cookies Disabled" error while trying to log in mean? [Back To Top] If you receive this message, your browser has the ability to accept "cookies" turned off. Cookies are used to store your account information and are required in order for you to use WebGrade. You can enable cookies for Internet Explorer by doing this:
11. Why am I receiving an "Invalid Header" error message when I try to upload? (Mac) [Back To Top] If you are receiving this error when you upload, make sure that you have selected the correct file to upload to WebGrade. This file should be labeled as "WebGrade_Upload_File" and will be located on your desktop. 12. Why do I get logged out of WebGrade when I try to view reports? [Back To Top] Some users who have installed software intended to block pop-up windows (e.g. Google Toolbar) or have a browser that automatically blocks pop-ups may experience difficulty with viewing reports on WebGrade. Clicking a report such as the Student Summary will cause you to be logged out of the system. Temporarily disabling your pop-up blocker or setting up an exception to allow pop-ups from WebGrade will resolve this issue. |
